Firstly, thanks for visiting!

I am David Leigh, a student at Liverpool John Moores University, in England. I am studying Mathematics, Statistics and Computing, and this web site represents my final year project:

"Programming in Derive 5" using web-based tutorial methods.

Along with my project leader, Terence Etchells, we feel we have identified a need for complementing the currently-available Derive documentation, particularly in respect of Basic Programming. Hence the emphasis is on 'basic' as well as 'programming', to take place in the format of 'tutorials' - or 'Learning by Example'. Consequently, this site is aimed primarily at relative newcomers to Derive 5 (procedural) programming, and works on the principle that we need to walk before we can run.

Users of this site, both new or experienced Derive programmers, are very welcome to comment on any aspect of it. Presentation? Content? Accessibility? Too basic? Not basic enough? Please feel free to e-mail your comments to: t.a.etchells@livjm.ac.uk.

Hopefully, most persons viewing the site will have Derive 5 already installed, so the dfw5 printer font should automatically display for better effect. If you are viewing this with a browser that does not have dfw5 printer font installed, the text should still be readable, but in a different font and perhaps a small amount of misalignment in some of the functions.

Anyway, thanks in advance, and Happy Programming!
