About this site
HTML 5
This site uses features of HTML5 for maximum viewing pleasure in modern browsers.
Colours
You may be wondering why this site uses fairly drab colours (Gray, RoyalBlue
and SeaGreen)? Well the simple answer is that I'm colour blind and these
colours look very good to me so I figure you'll appreciate them too!
This site also reflects most of the usability and design
considerations put forward by Jakob Nielsen
in his excellent book, "Designing
Web Usability: The Practice of Simplicity."
The stylesheet
As you can see, this site loads very quickly thanks to the use of
stylesheet code for the roll-over navigation buttons. Don't you just hate
those sites that force you to download two sets of high-resolution images
for each navigation option (which is just plain text really anyway?)
Fonts
This site uses open web fonts provided by Google if your browser supports them.
Printing
All pages in this site are printer-friendly thanks to
a dedicated printer stylesheet. You can be confident that when you print
anything from my site that you won't get any useless navigation menu on
your printouts! If your browser understands stylesheets these pages print
beautifully!
