An activity bar chart showing project tasks, results and their scheduling is shown below:

The table below lists the planned outcomes from the proposed research:

Title Description

R1: Clinical decision and resources models (Month 9)

Initial specifications of reasoning models to support patients and clinicians.
R2: Decision cross-cutting concerns model (Month 12) Initial modelling of decision multi-dimensional concerns with reference to model of resources for decision-support activities.
R3: Initial decision-support system (Month 18) Prototype implementation of the kernel reasoning system, deriving information form currently available statistical models, and initial tests of its usability by individual patients and clinicians. An outcome at this milestone will be a revised specification of the reasoning models.
R4: Initial adaptive user interface prototype) (Month 18) Prototype implementation of the adaptive user interface and initial specification of the usability and evaluations criteria.
R5: 2nd decision-support prototype demonstrator (Month 24) Integration of the statistical components for robust inference of survival, segmentation and visualisation, in prototype form. An outcome at this milestone will be a revised specification of the statistical components of the informatics system.
R6: 2nd decision-support prototype demonstrator (Month 24) Integration of the self-organising maps and integration with the decision-support engine.
R7: Final system demonstrator
(Month 30)
Integration of the outcomes form the first three workpackages, namely the core statistical modes, supervisory reasoning systems and interactive user interfaces.
R8: Final performance evaluation
(Month 30)
Performance evaluation and the development of appropriate metrics to evaluate the usefulness of the system for patients and for clinicians.
R10: Final report listing the following:
(Month 36)
Composition of the final demonstrator comprising the outcomes workpackages on reasoning models, statistical evidence and user interfaces,

Definition of requirements specification for an integrated informatics system for decision support for patients and clinicians suitable for a multicentre trial, and

Specification of evaluation metrics and setting of performance targets for clinical usefulness.
